American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR and First Aid Courses (Adult and Pediatric)

Better known as Heartsaver CPR and First Aid this course is designed to teach each participant how to perform CPR on an adult. This course can also include CPR in the pediatric and infant patient. The design of this course is flexible and allows only CPR, first aid, or Automated External Deifibrillator (AED) to be instructed depending on each participants needs. This course will usually last four to six hours depending on the content. This course is ideal for all types of occupations requiring this type of training. Here are some variations to the course depending on the participants needs:

Adult CPR

Pediatric and Infant CPR

Adult/Pediatric/Infant CPR

The CPR course includes information on assisting a person that is choking.

First Aid can be added to any of the above courses or done as a stand alone course.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can be added to any of the above courses or done as a stand alone course.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion card for the specific areas instructed during the course. This course will last anywhere from two to five hours depending on the modules that are taught.

American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI) Basic Life Support (BLS)

Initial and Renewal Courses

This course is designed for anyone requiring a CPR course geared towards the healthcare provider. This includes current healthcare providers and anyone trying to enter the healthcare field. This course is offered either as an initial course (first time) or as a renewal which is for participants that have attended this course in the past. The initial course usually lasts four to six hours and the renewal course usually lasts two to four hours. Topics included in this course are as follows:

CPR for Adult/Pediatric/Infant (Single and Two Rescuer) Also includes the treatment of a person that is choking.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Bag Valve Mask (BVM) Usage

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion card.

American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Prerequisite: Current in Basic Life Support

Initial and Renewal Courses

Renewal or Initial Course Offerred. This course is designed for the healthcare provider that would be responding to adult cardiac emergencies in the healthcare setting. This course covers treatment of an adult in cardiac arrest, experiencing a myocardial infarction or stroke, airway management, as well as bradycardiac and tachyarrythmias. For best results from the course, it is recommended that each participant be comfortable with single lead ECG interpretation and pharmacology associated with the course.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion card.

American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Prerequisite: Current in Basic Life Support

Initial and Renewal Courses

This course is designed for the healthcare provider that would be responding to pediatric emergencies in the healthcare setting. This course covers the treatment of a pediatric patient in respiratory distress/failure, shock, airway management, and cardiac emergencies. For best results from the course, it is recommended that each participant be comfortable with single lead ECG interpretation and pharmacology associated with the course.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion card.

American Heart Association & AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)

Initial and Renewal Courses

This course is designed for the healthcare provider that would be responding to a newborn requiring neonatal resuscitation in the healthcare setting. This course covers the treatment of a newly born patient in respiratory distress/failure, shock, airway management, and medication administration.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion card.

Bloodborne Pathogens

This course is is designed to teach each participant the proper way to deal with several types of situations involving bloodborne pathogens. This course meets all requirements according to OSHA guidlines for annual training in bloodborne pathogens. This course will usually last one and a half to two hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Reasonable Suspicion Testing: Training for Supervisors

This course meets the DOT guidelines for Supervisor training to recognize an employee that is under the influence of drugs or alcohol in the workplace. This course lasts three hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course

This course is designed to teach each participant in the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course will usually last two to four hours depending on content covered.

Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will either receive a course completion card or certificate depending on the course content.

Single Lead ECG Interpretation

This course is designed to teach single lead ECG interpretation from start to finish. This course begins with the anatomy and physiology of the heart and continues on to learning all aspects of single lead ECG interpretation. This course will usually last about eight hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

Twelve Lead ECG Interpretation

This course is designed for the participant wishing to learn the basics of twelve lead interpreation. This course begins with anatomy and review of ECGs, acquistion of 12 lead ECGs, and continues on to STEMI recognition, and ends with Advanced 12 lead interpreation. It is recommended that each participant be comfortable with single lead ECG recognition prior to attending this course. This course lasts usually four hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

Putting the TEAM Back in Airway Management

This course focuses on airway management as a team concept for both the BLS and ALS levels. All levels of providers will find the lecture and hands on practice very beneficial to many types of real world applications. The course begins with a lecture that lasts about a hour and then moves on to nearly two hours of BLS and ALS airway management skills practice. This course is designed for any BLS or ALS provider that performs or assists with BLS and ALS airway management.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

ACLS Prep Course

This course is designed to prepare each participant for attendance of an ACLS course. This course covers assessment and treatment of cardiac emergencies, single lead ECG interpretation review, airway management review, and emergency pharmacology. This course will usually last four hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

PALS Prep Course

This course is designed to prepare each participant for attendance of a PALS course. This course covers assessment and treatment of pediatric emergencies, single lead ECG interpretation review for pediatrics, airway management review, and emergency pharmacology for pediatrics. This course will usually last four hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

End Tidal CO2 Monitoring

This course is designed to teach each participant everything they every wanted to know about end tidal CO2 monitoring. This course cover types or monitoring devices, respiratory review, waveform basics, interpretation of waveforms, and troubleshooting waveforms. This course is instructed in a way to make using end tidal CO2 monitoring to it's fullest potential.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.

Pharmacology

This course is designed as a stand alone lecture or as lecture and practical application. Environmental Emergencies

This course is designed to teach each participant how to work safe in different types of environments as well as what to do should some type of environmental emergency occur. This course will usually last one hour.

Oxygen Administration

This course is designed to teach each participant the proper use and administration of oxygen in an emergency situation. This course is tailored to the needs of your organization and covers the use of the oxygen delivery devices that are used in your workplace.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Heat Emergencies

This course is designed to teach each participant the warning signs and symptoms of heat emergencies including the prevention of heat emergencies. Topics covered also include first aid for a patient that is suffering from a heat emergency.

Hazardous Communications (HAZ COM)

This course is designed to teach each participant the proper way to use and interpret hazardous materials communications. This course covers NFPA 704 Four Diamond Placards, DOT Placards, MSDS, and other ways to obtain information regarding hazardous materials. This course will usually last one hour.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)

Initial or Annual Refresher Training

This course is designed to teach each participant the proper way to identify, mitigate, and respond to hazardous materials incidents. The initial is a 40 hour course and the annual refresher is an 8 hour course. Both courses are taught according to the OSHA CFR 1910.120 standard.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Fork Lift Operations

This course is designed to teach each participant the proper use and safe operations of a fork lift. This course can be done as lecture only or can be offered as lecture and a practical skills application. The lecture portion of the course will usually last one hour and the practical portion length will depend on the number of participants.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Lock Out Tag Out

This course is designed to teach each participant the proper and safe use of the lock out tag out system. This course will usually last one hour.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Back Injury Prevention

This course is designed to teach each participant the principles of safe lifting and moving and how to prevent back injuries. This course also covers proper body mechanics as well as safe carrying techniques.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Slips, Trips, and Falls

This course is designed to teach each participant how to reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls in the workplace.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a course completion certificate.

Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing

This course is designed to teach each participant the proper and safe use of respiratory protection as well as fitting each participant for their properly sized protective device.

Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) (Basic and Advanced Levels)

American Association of Pediatric course designed to teach better management for the ill or injured pediatric patient in the prehospital setting. This course can be taught at either the basic or advanced level depending on your needs. The basic course lasts eight hours and the advanced course lasts sixteen hours. The course schedule can accomodate any schedule need you may have.

Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a course completion card.

Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) (Basic and Advanced Levels)

The NAEMT Prehospital Life Support Course is designed to teach each participant the immediate assessment, care, and transport considerations for a trauma patient. This course is taught as an initial provider course (16 hours) or a renewal course (8 hours). This course is designed for both the Basic and Advcanced prehospital providers.

Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a course completion card.

Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) (Basic and Advanced Levels)

The NAEMT Advanced Medical Life Support Course is designed to teach each participant the immediate assessment, care, and transport considerations for various types of medical patients. This course is taught as an initial provider course (16 hours) or a renewal course (8 hours). This course is designed for both the Basic and Advcanced prehospital providers.

Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a course completion card.
